Garden sculpture

The outdoor garden ornaments and sculptures are made with stoneware clay that renders the work frost-proof. I coil my larger pieces, a technique that takes weeks before the final shape is achieved and the hand modelled surface decoration is applied.

The brightly coloured, shiny glazes that I decorate with, are easy to clean, just use water and a soft bristled brush.

Hand-painted in blue, green, yellow, purple and other brightly coloured glazes.

Aurora Female Torso Stoneware Garden Sculpture with Red Roses, is hand-made using the coiling technique and every rose petal, branch and leaf is hand shaped and added one by one.
I paint the red, green and blue glazes on for a unique effect.
Exhibited at the steps of Newark Park House National Trust in 2021.

Flora Flower Lady ca 55 cm tall. This urn has a hole in the base so will not fill up with water.
Hand-built and exhibited on a plinth in green grasses and foliage during the Hidden Gardens in Bath exhibition 2018.

This piece is female torso vase and can be displayed in the garden all trough the year. The base has a hole so rain water will not collect in it.
The sculpture is covered in flowers and leaves with a resting bird on the rim. Glazed in bright green, yellow, turquoise and pink.

This is my version of the very famous and ancient Venus of Willendorf sculpture. The flowers and leaves and bright coloured glazes, represent fertility and growth. Suitable to display in the garden with a hole in the base so it never fills up with water. Ca 30 cm tall.

Hand-built frost proof stoneware l bird for the garden, covered in leaves and pink flower wings.
32 cm long.

This yellow sunflower bowl is a separate piece from the base. It becomes a bird bath when the flower fills up with water. Ca 32 cm wide and 60 cm tall.

Tree Spirit is the largest piece to date, that i could fit in the kiln.
It has flowers, birds and leaves all around it, also a female form masked as a tree.
Ca 80 cm tall.

These two birds can be bought as a set or individually. They represent love and peace.
Their wings are covered in pink and blue flowers.
Ca 30 cm long.

Amphitrite was the name of Poseidon's wife.
She has sea-life, waves and seaweed all around her sculpted face and torso.
I was inspired by the urgent need to look after the planet and how we are treating the seas.
